A masterpiece of Gothic Architecture, the Doge’s Palace is an accumulation of layer upon layer of building work and ornamentation, comprising the original foundations, the fourteenth/fifteenth-century structure, sizeable Renaissance additions and opulent Mannerist details.

Ca' d'Oro - Franchetti Gallery

An ancient patrician residence of the fifteenth-century gathers the art collection which Baron Giorgio Franchetti gave the State: in this house, decorated with a Venetian Gothic style, through fascinating architectonical glimpses, it is possible to admire paintings of the Venetian school among which the famous San Sebastiano by Andrea Mantegna, works of the Tuscan and the Flemish school, wonderful bronze statues and Renaissance statues as well. There is also an interesting collection of ceramics found  in the Venetian lagoon

Clock Tower

Visitors can see the interesting network of pulleys, weights and counterweights as they silently rise and fall at regular intervals. A metal spiral staircase then takes one towards the complex workings of the clock proper; visitors get a close view of the mechanism and of the gears linking it with the south and north clock faces, overlooking St. Mark’s Square and the Mercerie respectively

Half day trip in sailing boat

You will live the experience of the “al terzo” sail, visiting some of the most enchanting corners of the lagoon. During the navigation we will explain you the history of the lagoon and, on request, you can be guided by a naturalistic or archaeological guides. No predefined routes, you make the routes sailing, visiting an ancient island and birdwatching while taking a break from the crowded street of Venice!
